Participation at the collective exhibition “Do it” coordinated by Agustina Rodríguez at the EAC (Contemporary Art Space).
Interpretation of the instructions written by Jimmie Durham (1940, USA)

Instructions:
“Rooms contain objects that are visible yet not intended to be looked at. These include steam heat radiators, electric heat radiators, electric light switches, electrical outlets, electrical wires, water pipes, gas pipes, lighting fixtures, wooden trim, paint, surveillance cameras, burglar alarms, etcetera.
Using a graphite pencil or ballpoint pen, make a list on paper or wood of all the not-to-be-looked-at objects in a museum room.”

Interpretation:
The list consist in a serie of white papers in postcard size, written in braille with a ballpoint pen.
Each postcard content the name of one object of the “Sala 1″ at the MNAV, Montevideo, Uruguay.

Edition:
18 postcards x 2 copies (made at same time)

1st edition: text in braille in the front, and signed as P/A, with description of the object, and overwritten with the ballpoint pen in the reverse (private collection)
2nd edition: just the text in braille in the front and empty reverse (no signature, description or overwritten)

Exhibition:
The postcards were showed just hanged with a thin nylon thread and a staple.

Note: For the exhibition at the EAC, each artist had a room at this cultural centre.
So, I choose to close the main door of that room and “to continue” the halls wall.
The postcards -showing text about things we can see inside a room of a museum- were showed outside a room.
