The project “Casas Marcadas” (in english “Tagged Houses”) was based on an urban intervention.
We literally tagged houses in two neighborhoods of Montevideo. Houses with their doors and windows completely locked with bricks. Houses that implied 6058 m2 in a country with a big housing problem.
The tag was a yellow circle were we stenciled a black letter and a number, codifying in this way the 23 locked houses of that area.
Afterwards during the “day of the heritage”, –day that public buildings are open to all the people–, we spread hundreds of printed postcards around the city inviting to see this closed houses following a kind of circuit.
This postcards also invited people to visit and add their comments into the web site of the project, site where we shared diverse info about this empty houses and different opinions from people we invited. (website not updated: open)
Project I developed in LOGO with Mariana Ures and the great participation of Lucía Stagnaro.
For the intervention we had the collaboration of Sergio Rodríguez.
